Ethics Committee
Pursuant to Art. 12, para. 1 of the Statute of the NEAA, in conjunction with Art. 13, para. 3 and para. 6 of the Code of Ethics of NEAA, and in accordance with decisions of the Accreditation Council dated 28.03.2024 / Protocol No. 05, 27.02.2025 /Protocol No. 04, and 18.09.2025/Protocol No. 17, the composition of the Ethics Committee at NEAA has been established as follows:
Chairperson:
1. Assoc. prof. Gergana Boyanova – member of the Accreditation Council of NEAA;
Members:
2. Prof. Toni Shekerdzhieva-Novak, PhD – Member of the Accreditation Council of NEAA;;
3. Dr. Atanas Blidov – legal consulant of NEAA;
4. Mr. Dobry Petrov Dobrev – 4th year student at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohrdidski”.
5. Mrs. Teodora Tsvetanova – Chief Expert at the Standing Committee on Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Computing, Ethics Committee secretary;
The term of office of the Ethics Committee is for the period from 28.03.2024 to 28.03.2027.
The Ethics Committee at the NEAA has the following tasks:
- to monitor compliance with the Code of Ethics;
- to receive reports and investigate cases of ethical violations and issue decisions on them;
- to assist the President of the NEAA in relation to the implementation of the Counter-Corruption and Unlawfully Acquired Assets Forfeiture Act;
- to prepare and present to the President of the NEAA an annual report on the state of ethical conduct and culture at the NEAA, with recommendations for their improvement;
- to establish and develop cooperation with the ethics committees of higher education institutions, as well as with similar committees in other institutions involved in quality assurance in education in Bulgaria.
